I really wanted Jonah to walk, as many first time parents do, and many many people told me to cherish the time before he could walk. I did cherish that time, but I still wanted him to walk and now he is officially a walker. In just two days he went from talking 6, 7, or 8 steps in a row between Micah and I or my mom and I to walking across rooms, turning corners, and walking outside downtown Morris! It is soooooooooooo cute!!!! He walks with his arms straight out in front of him:) It is going to be a little bit of a tougher task for me though starting on Monday when he's walking this much and I'm at home with him by myself. I will be getting a lot more exercise following him around the house I'm sure! In just a few days he has also gone to saying Mama here and there to saying it all the time!!! He walks to me saying Mama the whole way...it melts my heart!
We have been in Morris all week and it has been wonderful. Last weekend Micah was here too and we spent time staying at his parents house. Saturday night we went to Princeton, IL for one of my best friend's weddings and it was a blast!! I got to see my girlfriends from college Bible study and I hadn't seen them in forever (a few of them had not even met Jonah!) Then Micah went back home to WI on Sunday evening to work for a few days and Jonah and I stayed with my parents on Sunday night, Monday night and Tuesday night and had a great time as usual. Then Micah came back Wednesday evening and we went back to stay at his parents house for two nights and have Thanksgiving with his family. Then Friday morning we came back to my parents and were here last night and had our Thanksgiving today. It was very nice as well. Back home and to our normal routine tomorrow!:)

Halloween
Happy halloween! So this was Jonah's second halloween but last year he was only a couple weeks old and pretty much just slept in his little pumpkin outfit. This year we decided not to take him trick or treating since he cannot even walk and doesn't eat candy. We just thought he would dress up and we'd stay at home and hand out candy. Well that plan was only half of what we did...Jonah did dress up (in two different costumes might I add), but we did not hand out candy because we did not have one single trick or treater! I was so sad about this fact because I love handing out candy and last year at our old place we had TONS of trick or treaters! We did have a nice relaxing day at home though and Jonah got two decent naps which was nice and he looked ADORABLE in his two costumes!! I hope everyone else had a wonderful halloween:)
12 Month Checkup
So Jonah had his 12 month checkup at the doctor on Tuesday. It went pretty well overall. He has been fighting a stuffy/runny nose for over a week and a cough for many days, but the doctor wasn't concerned at all about that...his lungs and everything sounded great. He did have a little clear fluid in his ear, but not enough to make the doctor worried and he didn't even want to put him on any meds for it so that was good. He is growing well the doctor says. He is definitely slowing down in weight...he is 21 and a half lbs and that is only the 30th percentile but the doctor says that is just fine. He is staying up there in length though...he is 30 inches long and that puts him in the 75th percentile. He had to get four shots and that was not fun. He cried really hard...it makes me feel so bad for him! The shots did not have any affect on him afterwards though...no fever or fussiness or night waking or anything so thank goodness for that! He also had to get a finger pricked to check his iron levels and they were a little low. The nurse gave us a sheet with suggestions of foods to be giving him as often as we can to help his iron levels and they will just test them at his next appointment which will be at 15 months. I am so thankful for a healthy one year old boy!!:)

Not Me Monday!
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I did not wipe my son's snotty nose on his sleeper because I was too lazy to get up and get a kleenex. And I did not give my son a couple bites of a cookie just to keep him happy and quiet so I could finish eating.
I did not starting setting my dvr to record The Girls Next Door because I wanted to see if the new girls are as entertaining as the old girls. I did not leave clothes sitting in the washing machine because I was too lazy to go transfer them to the dryer, even though I knew the washing machine had quit.
I did not turn cartoons on so my son would be happy and I could do some things on the computer.
Not me Mondays...what a fun thing:)

1 Year Old!!!
OK...this time I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT BELIEVE JONAH IS ALREADY 1 YEAR OLD!!! This past year just FLEW by and I know that is going to continue to happen and my baby is not going to be a baby anymore:( I do miss the baby days a lot, especially when I see pregnant women or little babies out and about. With that said, I love Jonah at the stage he is in because he can play and have fun, rather than just lay there doing nothing. He is a lot more serious than he use to be and I think it's because he just concentrates so hard on everything and he's trying harder and harder to figure out how things work and just life in general.
He is not walking quite yet but I feel it's just right around the corner. This past weekend while in Morris for his first of two birthday parties, he started walking really well while pushing a lawn mower at grandmom and grandpapa's house. Every time he would walk pushing it he would have a huge smile on his face because he was so proud and loved doing it! Micah's mom had us bring it home and he is doing so well with it here too. He is also standing for longer periods of time without holding on to anything. The bad part about this is that he thinks when he doesn't want to stand anymore he can just lean forward and I will catch him. I have everytime so far, but there is going to come a time when he does this and he falls smack on his face, but we can hope he figures this out and stops doing it BEFORE that has to happen.
His first birthday party at Micah's parents house was great! We had a wonderful time with Micah's immediate family and some extended family and Jonah got a lot of great gifts (that he really wasn't too interested in opening...haha) I was disappointed though because he wasn't too interested in his cake either. He wouldn't even take one bite but Micah's mom snuck a little frosting in his mouth and he thought "hmmm, that is kinda good" so then he went on to take little bites of the frosting but never got much into the actual cake. I was hoping he would dive in and get messy!:)
Last night for his actual birthday, Micah and I got him a few gifts each and I got him balloons and a cupcake. He was a little bit more interested in opening his gifts when it was just the three of us, but the couple clothes he just tossed to the side...haha:) He was a little more interested in the cupcake too and ate a little more than he did of the cake over the weekend. This Saturday is his last party, which is going to be with my family at my parents house. I hope that one goes as well as the one last weekend!
I feel so happy and blessed to have had one wonderful year with our little Jonah! He is our pride and joy and he is just so fun and I cannot wait to see how much more fun he is going to become! I love him so much!!!

Not Me Monday!!
Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Since I care so much about my teeth, it was definitely not me who didn't floss all weekend while not at home just because I didn't feel like bringing the flossers with me. And it was for sure not me who was too lazy to wash my face before bed over the weekend in Morris too.
I would never not wash my hair even though it needed it because I was too lazy and wanted to get going to Morris quicker. And I would never lick a spoon I was using to stir up something I was baking. It was also not me who for the millionth time didn't clean the bathtub this week. And it was not me who ate an egg sandwich for breakfast and then 2 hours later eat a gigantic bowl of cereal for what I like to call a second breakfast.

11 Months!!!
Another month that FLEW by!! We had a very fun month because we spent a weekend with Micah's family in Deerfield, WI and we just spent this past weekend (just the three of us) in Egg Harbor, WI. Both were sooooo much fun and Jonah had a great time!
So Jonah is still crawling like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. My mother-in-law thought he would figure out that crawling on both knees would get him around faster, but he just prefers to do it his own way and has gotten VERY fast and efficient at getting around this strange way! I love watching him...it's still so funny to me:) This month he has officially become a cruiser as well. He pulls himself up ALL the time on EVERYTHING and walks around while holding on to things! He started off pulling himself up on his activity table, on us, and in his crib, but now he will do it on whatever he is near (the dishwasher, the kitchen cart, the kitchen chair, the couch, etc... Most of the time when he wakes up from a nap or in the morning, he is standing in his crib. He actually started "teething" on his crib and we had to get a cover for it because the wood was coming off! He is getting better and better at moving his feet and walking when someone is holding his hands, but he still likes to walk a few steps this way and then sit down:) I am chasing him around everywhere at this point, I can't even imagine once he really does start walking...it's only going to get worse!
He is still eating the baby food and loves his snacks too! We are starting now to try some cheese (tonight was the first attempt and he wasn't a fan), so we will try again tomorrow. He also had been battling a cold for a LONG time so I wasn't giving him any yogurt because that wasn't helping his stuffiness. Today was the first time in over a month that he had yogurt and he loved it as much as he did before (thank goodness!) He use to eat the Yobaby and liked all the flavors I had tried to give him, but I couldn't find the Yobaby in the grocery store today. I did however find a yogurt that was labeled as being new. It is made by Horizon and it's called little blends. It is for kids and it's yogurt with blended fruit and veggies in one serving. It sounded really gross to me, but I thought I might as well try it because it's another way for him to get fruits and veggies while having his favorite food of yogurt. The one that sounded the best of the three choices was with apple and butternut squash. I was so glad he liked it! Hopefully he will continue liking it:) I cannot believe that in another month Jonah will be 1!!!!:)
