6 Months Old!!

Sadie is 6 months old...halfway to 1 year...CRAZY!!! I really cannot believe she is already crawling at 6 months because her big brother Jonah didn't crawl until after he was 9 months. She had her 6 month checkup at the doctor today and he said she is definitely advanced in development because of her movement abilities. She weighs 14 lbs 11.5 ounces which is only up just over 1 pound in the last 2 months since her last checkup (this put her in the 25th percentile). The doctor wasn't too worried, but does want to do a weight check in 6 weeks just to make sure she isn't dropping down percentage wise too much. We have had a lot of feeding issues, partially because of all my thyroid troubles and my milk production not being so great because of those issues. Because of all this, we have had to give her a lot of bottles of expressed breastmilk and quite a bit of formula as well. She takes a bottle which is a good thing because at this age Jonah wouldn't even take a bottle of expressed breastmilk. The problem is she is very distracted when eating and it doesn't matter if we are in a dark room, just the two of us...she is still distracted! It is like she would rather be down on the floor moving around than eating. She doesn't take her whole bottle sometimes so this could be partially to blame for her slow weight gain between 4 months and 6 months. She does eat rice cereal now, sometimes once a day, sometimes twice a day, but we are starting her on more solids this weekend so hopefully she takes well to those like she did the rice cereal so we can get her some more food and calories to help her gain some more weight!:) Everything else looked great and she is still up there for length, in the 50th percentile, at 26.5 inches long. Hopefully she decides to start eating better for us and there will be no problems:)

5 Months Old!!

My baby is 5 months old and she is crazier than ever! She is REALLY trying to crawl and it's just so funny because Jonah couldn't really even roll over at 5 months old, let alone want to and try to crawl! She is rolling both ways really well and she can sit up for a few seconds on her own. Her trying to crawl is being on her belly and pushing up not usually onto her knees, but onto her toes and pressing her face into the ground and trying to move. It is HILARIOUS!!! She gets really frustrated though because she does want to move and just can't quite do it. She was rolling so much that we had to stop swaddling her arms for naps and nighttime and she did much better with it than we thought she would. She is still waking up once a night a lot of times and it's so frustrating because we know she can sleep through the night and we don't know why sometimes she does and sometimes she doesn't (because we don't do anything different the nights she does sleep through). Hopefully soon she will stop waking up at all, but only time will tell:)

I LOVE pictures and I love getting professional pictures taken of my babies. When Jonah was born, we didn't do newborn pictures and I really regretted it, so we did have them done with Sadie. I was able to find a great photographer who has really great prices and does wonderful work! When we did get pictures of Jonah when he was a baby, we decided to do them at 4 months, 8 months, and 12 months (instead of the typical 3, 6, 9, and 12 months). We are doing the same with Sadie and so we just had her 4 month pictures taken this past Saturday. She was really crabby (as she is fussy a lot of the time) and she didn't cooperate for the pictures as we hoped she would. My photographer was kind enough to let us come back on Monday to try for a few more (at no charge!) I was pleasantly surprised with how all the pics turned out because we got some great ones on Sat and on Mon! I just wanted to share them with everyone since they are so cute!:)

4 Months Old!!

Today my little baby is 4 months old...my how time flies! She is still a little fuss face (as I was called when I was a baby), but she is just growing and changing so much!! We had a 4 month photo shoot with a photographer today and it was horrible! Sadie was not having it...she wouldn't smile for anything and she was just pretty crabby. I hope we at least got a few good shots! This picture is one I took on my own and of course she was smiling for me at home...haha! We have her 4 month checkup in a little over a week so hopefully she is growing just as she should be!:)

French Stew

I haven't really been cooking many new recipes lately so I haven't made another food post from my first one, but I am going to right now! I made a great dinner tonight and my husband loved it too so I thought I would share with my readers:)

French Stew
2 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cans (15 ounces each) cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
4 medium carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
1 can (14 ounces) chicken broth
1 teaspoon rosemary, crushed
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 slices crusty french bread, torn

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a 4 quart dutch oven, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add pork, onion, and garlic. Cook and stir until pork is browned, apx 4 minutes. Stir in beans, carrots, broth, rosemary, and pepper. Bring to a boil. Cover and bake 25 minutes. Meanwhile, chop bread in food processor to form about 1 1/2 cups of coarse crumbs. Toss crumbs with remaining oil; sprinkle over meat mixture. Bake, uncovered, 20 more minutes or until pork is cooked and carrots are tender. Serve in shallow bowls with french bread slices, if desired.
ENJOY!!
